Repairing a common calendar fault in 218 and 224 series Accutrons

Select a flat watchmaker's stake larger than the movement side diameter of the bushing.  From the movement side (shown face up in photo) push out the bushing.  Sometimes this can be accomplished by hand, but if a hammer needs to be used, BE VERY GENTLE using only light taps (these parts are brass and can be distorted with surprising ease).
This picture shows the bushing driven flush with the movement side of the plate.
Here I show a special stake I made just for this purpose.  The diameter of the shaft is 1.0 mm and is used to drift the bushing out completely.  This stake would easily damage the bushing if it were used to remove it entirely, that is why the flat stake is used to push it this far.
Only hand pressure should be required to push the bushing out the rest of the way.
